  • Code: SC442-00
  • Description: ITB contact motor (M6) error
The ITB contact motor error is detected during the initialization at power-on or after the cover is closed.
  • Causes: Motor overcurrent, high temperature
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the ITB contact motor (M6).
  • Code: SC442-01

The ITB contact sensor does not detect the home position of the ITB within 3 seconds after the ITB contact motor is turned ON.
  • Causes: • Defective image transfer unit (Contact/spaced mechanism damaged)
    • Defective ITB contact sensor (S6)
    • Defective ITB contact motor (M6)
    • Defective EGB (PCB1)
    • Loose, broken, defective connector or harness defective
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the image transfer unit.
    2. Reconnect the connectors.
    3. Replace the ITB contact sensor (S6).
    4. Replace the ITB contact motor (M6).
  • Code: SC442-02
  • Description: ITB (Image transfer belt): Contact position shift abnormality

  • Code: SC442-03
  • Description: ITB (Image transfer belt): Spaced position shift abnormality
The ITB contact sensor does not detect the spaced position of the ITB within 3 seconds after the ITB unit has moved to spaced position.
  • Code: SC490-00
  • Description: Image transfer unit set error
The TM/P sensor does not detect the reflection from the ITB and the ITB contact sensor does not detect home position during the initialization at power-on or after the cover is closed.
  • Causes: • No ITB installed
    • Defective ITB unit (Contact/spaced mechanism damaged)
    • Defective ITB contact sensor (S6)
    • Defective ITB contact motor (M6)
    • Defective TM/P sensor (S8)
    • Defective EGB (PCB1)
    • Loose, broken, defective connector or harness defective
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the ITB unit.
    2. Reconnect the connectors.
    3. Replace the ITB contact sensor (S6).
    4. Replace the ITB contact motor (M6).
    5. Replace the TM/P sensor (S8).
    6. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
  • Code: SC491-00
  • Description: High voltage power: Charge/development/transfer bias output error
An error signal was detected continuously for 200 msec during charge bias, development bias, and transfer bias output.
  • Causes: Hardware related causes: • Contact failure • Loose, broken, or defective connector on the controller side • Grounding, open-circuit in the high voltage route • Arc discharge due to lack of space • The shorted harness on the controller side • Engine board malfunction due to signal error • Defective HVPS (PCB3)
Load related causes: • Short-circuit • Arc discharge due to lack of space • Drum deterioration, or condensation on drum caused by overcurrent • Drum condensation, pinhole overcurrent • The incorrect gap between the drum and charge roller • Overcurrent due to condensation on the drum surface • Increase in transfer roller impedance (Low-temperature environment, due to dirt ) • Open-circuit in the power supply route
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Re-install the AIO cartridges.
    2. Check if there are scratches on the drum surface. If you can see the internal element of the drum (bare metal) on the surface, replace the AIO.
    3. Re-install the paper transfer roller.
    4. Replace the paper transfer roller or unit.
    5. Reconnect the CN220 connector on the EGB (PCB1).
    6. Reconnect the CN800 connector on the HVPS (PCB3).
    7. Re-install the HVPS (PCB3).
    8. Replace the HVPS (PCB3).
    9. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
    10. Replace the harnesses on the HVPS (PCB3).
