  • Code: SC240-00
  • Description: LD error
During the startup operation of the machine or during printing,
    • The LD current exceeds the specified value while the LD is on.
    • The LD driver initialization operation performed when the LD lights up is not completed normally.
    • The harness of the LDB is broken or disconnected.
  • Causes: • LD degradation (LD is broken, output characteristics shifted, PD damaged)
    • LDB defective (LD driver defective)
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Check the connection between the laser unit and the EGB (PCB1).
    2. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
    3. Replace the laser unit.
  • Code: SC270-01
  • Description: Image writing ASIC communication error
The communication between the CPU and image writing ASIC is not performed correctly during the startup operation of the machine or during printing.
  • Causes: EGB (PCB1) defective
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
  • Code: SC270-10
  • Description: Image writing ASIC communication error: Other
The power supply for the LDB is abnormal during the startup operation of the machine or after the cover is closed.
  • Causes: • EGB (PCB1) defective (LD +5VS power error)
    • LDB defective (LD driver defective)
    • LDB harness broken
    • Interlock switches (SW1, SW2, SW3) defective
    • Power supply detection error
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
    2. Replace the interlock switches (SW1, SW2, SW3).
  • Code: SC396-00
  • Description: Black drum motor (M2) error
The motor LOCK signal is detected for more than 2 seconds while the motor START signal is ON.
  • Causes: • Black drum motor (M2) defective
    • Loose, broken, defective connector or harness defective
    • EGB (PCB1) defective
    • AIO (K) or image transfer unit overload
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the black drum motor (M2).
    2. Reconnect the black drum motor (M2) connector.
    3. Replace the black drum motor (M2) harness.
    4. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
    5. Replace the AIO (K) or the image transfer unit.
  • Code: SC397-00
  • Description: Color drum motor (M1) error
The motor LOCK signal is detected for more than 2 seconds while the motor START signal is ON.
  • Causes: • Color drum motor (M1) defective
    • Loose, broken, defective connector or harness defective
    • EGB (PCB1) defective
    • AIO (C, M, or Y) overload
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Replace the color drum motor (M1).
    2. Reconnect the color drum motor (M1) connector.
    3. Replace the color drum motor (M1) harness.
    4. Replace the EGB (PCB1).
    5. Replace the AIO (C, M, or Y).
  • Code: SC400-00
  • Description: TM/P sensor (S8) error
The CPU detected a low voltage of the positive reflection output under the threshold in the TM/P sensor.
  • Causes: • A solid print out due to an electrostatic charging error
    • TM/P sensors (S8) are dirty.
    • TM/P sensor (S8) is defective.
  • Remedy: Check if the SC occurs by turning the power OFF then ON. If the SC occurs again, do the following steps. Check if the SC reoccurs by cycling the power after each step.
    1. Check the image transfer unit.
    2. Clean the TM/P sensors (S8). (Cleaning Points > TM/P sensor)
    3. Replace the TM/P sensor (S8) unit.
    4. Replace the AIO cartridges.
