  • Code: n05
  • Display: Media detection error
  • Description: Media detection failed.
  • Remedy: 1. Is media set? Set media. 2. Is media edge sensor assembly cable at head connected securely? Securely connect it to CR board assembly connector J208. 3. Is media rear sensor under media guide R connected securely? Securely connect it to MAIN board assembly connector J42. 4. Check sensor sensitivity from "Sen 8:EdgeAD" of self-diagnosis function. • Adjust with MAIN board assembly volume (R361, R365). • Replace media edge sensor assembly. 5. Is CR_FFC inserted obliquely? Reconnect the following connectors. • MAIN board assembly: J14, J16, J50, J52, J54 • CR board: J1, J3, J5, J7, J8 6. CR_FFC assembly may be damaged. Replace CR_FFC assembly. 7. CR board assembly may be damaged. Replace CR board assembly. 8. Check whether there is media or not from "Sen 9:Rear" of self-diagnosis function. When "No media" is displayed even if media is set, replace media rear sensor. 9. MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly.

  • Description: Media is inserted obliquely.
  • Remedy: 1. Set media again and check whether the same error occurs. If this error is caused by user's inappropriate media setting, instruct correct media setting procedure. 2. Is suction fan working properly when checked through "Test 6: Fan" - "Fan 1: Suction fan" of selfdiagnosis function? • Check the connection of the following MAIN board assembly connectors. • Suction fan relay 1 assembly: J25 • Suction fan relay 2 assembly: J26 • Suction fan relay 3 assembly: J28 • Suction fan relay 4 assembly: J29 • Replace the cable of suction fan that does not operate properly. 3. Check pressure lever operation. Apply grease (G501) to pressure cam and make an adjustment.

  • Description: 1. Ink is running short. 2. Ink has run out. The printing operation in process stops immediately. * The ink cartridge(s) that is detected to have no (little) ink in the sub tank is displayed in [*], with K, k, C, c, M, m, Y, y. Up to 7 colors can be displayed at the same time. When there is no ink left in all cartridges, the printer displays [ALL].
  • Remedy: 1. Check the ink in the ink pack(s). When there is no (little) ink left, replace the ink pack. When there is enough ink left, refer to the check item No. 2. 2. Determine the cartridge(s) with no ink left from “Controller 2: sensor” - “Sen 3: etc.” - “16: Ink END KkCcMmYy” of self-diagnosis function. Remove and reinstall the cartridge(s). Wait for at least 3 minutes to see if a similar error is displayed. If a similar error is displayed, refer to the check item No.3. 3. Check the connection of the sub tank control relay cable. *Check also the connection of the connector on the path. Reconnect the following connectors: HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J11(K) • Connector J12(k) • Connector J13(C) • Connector J14(c) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (L side): • Connector J11(Y) • Connector J12(y) • Connector J13(M) • Connector J14(m) • Connector J3 MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER CONTROL board assembly: J9, J10 If an error occurs after reconnecting the connectors above, the sub tank control relay cable or cable on the path may be damaged Replace them. If an error occurs even after replacing them, refer to the check item No. 4. 4. Check the solenoid valve operation from “Test 12: Controller” - “Ctrl 2: Sensor” - “Sensor 2: Solenoid valve check” of selfdiagnosis function. The sub tank assembly may be damaged. Replace it. If an error occurs after replacing the sub tank, MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace it.

  • Description: Cartridge is not installed. * The ink cartridge(s) that is not installed is displayed in [*], with K, k, C, c, M, m, Y, y. Up to 7 colors can be displayed at the same time. When there is no ink cartridges, the printer displays [ALL].
  • Remedy: 1. Is the cartridge(s) installed? Install the cartridge(s). 2. Turn the machine OFF. Turn it ON again and check if the same message is displayed. If the same message is displayed: Refer to the check item No. 3. 3. Check whether there is an ink cartridge or not from "Ctrl 2:Sensor" - "Sen.3: etc" - "11:Ink NOT KkCcMmYy" of self-diagnosis function. Remove and reinstall the cartridge(s). Wait for at least 3 minutes to see if a similar error is displayed. If a similar error is still displayed, the ink cartridge control cable may be damaged. Replace it. If a similar error is still displayed after replacing it, refer to the check item No. 4. 4. Check the connection of the ink sensor cable connector. Reconnect the following connectors: HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J5(K) • Connector J6(k) • Connector J7(C) • Connector J8(c) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly: J9, J10 If an error occurs after reconnecting the connectors above, the ink sensor cable or cable on the path may be damaged. Replace them. If an error occurs even after replacing them, MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace it.

  • Remedy: 1. Is the smart chip inserted? Insert the smart chip. 2. Turn the machine OFF. Turn it ON again and check if the same message is displayed. If message appears: Refer to action in check item No. 3. 3. Check if there is a smart chip or not from "Ctrl 2: Sensor" - "Sen.3:etc" - "17:S/C NOT" of self-diagnosis function. Remove and reinsert the smart chip(s), and check if the “S/C NOT [KkCcMmYy] display changes. If the display has a problem, refer to the check item No. 4. 4. Check the connection of the ink sensor cable. *Check also the connection of the connector on the path. Reconnect the following connectors: MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER CONTROL board assembly: J9, J10 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J5(K) • Connector J6(k) • Connector J7(C) • Connector J8(c) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (L side): • Connector J5(Y) • Connector J6(y) • Connector J7(M) • Connector J8(m) • Connector J3 If an error still occurs after reconnecting the connectors above, the ink sensor cable or cable on the path may be damaged. Replace them. 5. Check the ink ID board assembly from "Test 12: Controller" - "Ctrl 2: Sensor" - "Sensor 3:etc.” - “7-14: * Ink ID" (* indicates the ink color) of self-diagnosis function. If the display has a problem, the ink ID board assembly may be damaged. Replace it. If a similar error still occurs after replacing it, MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace it.

Up to 7 colors can be displayed at the same time. When there is no smart chips in all ink cartridges, the printer displays [ALL].
  • Remedy: 1. Check the smart chip with no ink left from "Ctrl 2: Sensor" - "Sensor 4:etc.” - “18: S/C END [KkCcMcYy]" of self-diagnosis function. Insert the smart chip card with remaining ink and check the display on “18: S/C END [KkCcMcYy]" changes. If no change occurs, refer to the check item No. 2. 2. Check the connection of the ink sensor cable. *Check also the connection of the connector on the path. Reconnect the following connectors: HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J5(K) • Connector J6(k) • Connector J7(C) • Connector J8(c) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (L side): • Connector J5(Y) • Connector J6(y) • Connector J7(M) • Connector J8(m) • Connector J3 MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER CONTROL board assembly: J9, J10 If an error still occurs after reconnecting the connectors above, the ink sensor cable or cable on the path may be damaged.
