  • Display: Mainte. Cover[*] Open Either L or R is indicated in [*].
  • Description: Maintenance cover is open.
  • Remedy: 1. Is Maintenance cover sensor wobbly? Tighten the screw on Maintenance cover sensor assembly. 2. Check if the sensor is in the closed status when Maintenance cover is closed. Adjust the location of the sensor so that the sensor is in the closed status when Maintenance cover is closed. 3. Check if the mounting direction of the sensor is inverted. If the sensor’s open side is not facing the rear side of the printer, reinstall the sensor. 4. Is the cable of Maintenance cover sensor securely connected? Securely connect the cable of Maintenance cover R sensor to MAIN board assembly J54 and the cable of Maintenance cover L sensor assembly to MAIN board assembly J55. 5. Is Maintenance cover sensor damaged? Replace Maintenance cover sensor assembly. 6. Is Maintenance cover damaged? Replace Maintenance cover. 7. MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly.

  • Remedy: 1. Does Pressurizing lever move smoothly? Lubricate pressure cam. 2. Is Lever sensor assembly securely installed? Adjust the mounting position of Lever sensor assembly. 3. Is the sensor portion of Lever sensor assembly dirty? Clean the sensor portion with a cotton swab, etc. 4. Is the cable of Lever sensor assembly securely connected? Securely connect Lever sensor cable assembly to MAIN board assembly connector J30. 5. Check the operation of Lever sensor in “Sen 7: Lever” in the self-diagnosis function. Replace Lever sensor assembly. 6. MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly.

  • Description: Media has run out.
  • Remedy: 1. Is the cable of Paper rear sensor assembly placed under Paper guide R securely connected? Securely connect it to MAIN board assembly connector J42. 2. Check if there is paper in “Sen 9: PaperRear” in the self-diagnosis function. If “No media” is displayed even when paper is loaded, check the item 5. 3. Paper rear sensor assembly may need adjustment or it may be damaged. Adjust Paper rear sensor assembly. If the same error continues to be displayed, replace Paper rear sensor assembly. 4. MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly.

  • Description: Media is not loaded.
  • Remedy: 1. Check if there is paper in “Sen. 9 : PaperRear” in the self-diagnosis function. If “No media” is displayed even when paper is loaded, replace Paper rear sensor assembly. 2. Does the media in use have low reflectance? Instruct the user that media with low reflectance cannot be used. - 3. Is the cable of Paper rear sensor assembly placed under Paper guide R securely connected? Securely connect it to MAIN board assembly connector J42. 4. Paper rear sensor assembly may need adjustment or it may be damaged. Adjust Paper rear sensor assembly. If the same error continues to be displayed, replace Paper rear sensor assembly. 5. MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly.

  • Description: Media detection has failed.
  • Remedy: 1. Is the media loaded outside the printing range (not placed in the center or the width is smaller than the minimum width)? Instruct the user how to load media. 2. Is Paper edge sensor assembly securely installed? Install Paper edge sensor correctly. 3. Is Platen non-reflective tape damaged? Replace Platen non-reflective tape. 4. Are there taint or any foreign substances on the surface of Platen and Paper edge sensor? Remove any taint or foreign substances. 5. Is Paper edge sensor assembly damaged? Replace Paper edge sensor. 6. Is the cable of Paper edge sensor assembly placed on Head securely connected? Securely connect it to CR board assembly connector J208. 7. Is the cable of Paper rear sensor placed under Paper guide R securely connected? Securely connect it to MAIN board assembly connector J42. 8. Check the sensitivity of the sensor in “Sen 8: EdgeAD” in the self-diagnosis function. • Adjust with the volumes of MAIN board assembly (R375 and R377). • Replace Paper edge sensor assembly. 9. Does the media in use have low reflectance? • Instruct the user that media with low reflectance cannot be used. - 10. Is CR_FFC obliquely inserted? Correctly plug the following connectors again. • MAIN board assembly: J9, J10, J11, J48 • CR board assembly : J201, J202, J203, J215 11. CR_FFC may be damaged. Replace CR_FFC. 12. CR board assembly may be damaged. Replace CR board assembly. 13. MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly.

  • Display: Media skew error
  • Description: Media is running obliquely.
  • Remedy: 1. Reload media and check whether the same error occurs. If the error is due to the way the user loads the media, instruct the user how to load media properly. 2. Does Suction FAN correctly operate in “Test6: Fan” – “Fan1: Vacuum Fan” in the self-diagnosis function? Check the connection of the connectors of the following MAIN board assemblies. • Suction FAN1 cable: J25 • Suction FAN2 cable: J26 • Suction FAN3 cable: J28 • Suction FAN4 cable: J29 • Replace Suction FAN assembly. • Replace the cable of Suction FAN that is not working properly. 3. Is the pressure suitably adjusted for the media? Adjust the pressure so that there is no skew, horizontal banding, or mark left by pressurizing rollers. 4. When using board type media, is more than two-thirds of pressurizing rollers placed over the end section of the media? Adjust the media position so that more than twothirds of pressurizing rollers placed over the end section of the board type media, or the end section does not come in contact with the pressurizing rollers.
