  • Code: n08
  • Display: [*] Ink Near End [*] Ink End
  • Description: *Up to seven colors are indicated simultaneously in [*] by K, k, C, c, M, m, Y and y when no (little) ink is detected in Sub tank(s). When there is no ink in any of Sub tanks, [ALL] is displayed.
    Ink has run out. Printing operation stops immediately. (Printing operation does not stop when Ink Near End is displayed.)
  • Remedy: 1. Check the ink in the ink bag. Replace the ink bags when there is no (little) ink. If there is sufficient amount of ink, refer to the check item 2. - 2. Check the ink bag with no ink in “Ctrl2 : Sensor” – “Sen.4: etc” – “18: Ink END KkCcMmYy” in the self-diagnosis function to see if the ink bag displayed is the same one with the error. Insert or remove the cartridge and wait for more than three minutes to see if the same error is still displayed. If the same error continues to be displayed, refer to the check item 3. 3. Check the connection of the connectors of Sub tank control relay cable. *Check the connection of the connectors on the path. Correctly plug the following connectors again. HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J11 (K1) • Connector J12 (K2) • Connector J13 (C1) • Connector J14 (C2) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (L side): • Connector J11 (Y1) • Connector J12 (Y2) • Connector J13 (M1) • Connector J14 (M2) • Connector J3 MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER CONTROL Board assembly 3: J9, J10 If the same error continues to be displayed even after inserting the above connectors again, Sub tank control relay cable or the cables on the path may be damaged. Replace it. If the same error continues to be displayed after replacing it, refer to the check item 4. 4. Is there ink leakage or bleeding around the connection area of Ink tube? Check the connection of Ink tube. - 5. Has the ink bag been left removed? Replace GB connector. 6. Check if Solenoid valve is correctly operating in “Check13: ExControl” – “Ctrl2: Sensor” – “Sen.2 : TankValveCheck” in the self-diagnosis function. Two-way valve may be damaged. If the same error continues to be displayed after replacing it, MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace MAIN board assembly. 7. HEATER JUNCTION board may be damaged. Replace HEATER JUNCTION board.

  • Description: *Up to seven colors are indicated simultaneously in [*] by K, k, C, c, M, m, Y and y when no ink bag is detected. When there is no ink in any of Sub tanks, [ALL] is displayed.
    Ink bag is not inserted.
  • Remedy: 1. Are Ink bags used dedicated ink bags? Instruct the user to use the dedicated ink bags. - 2. Is the message displayed after turning off the printer and turning it back on? When the message is displayed: Refer to the check item 2 for action. - 3. Check if there are ink bags in “Ctrl2 : Sensor” – “Sen.4: etc” – “17: Ink NOT” in the selfdiagnosis function to see if the ink bag displayed is the same one with the error. Insert or remove the cartridge and wait for more than three minutes to see if the same error is still displayed. • If the same error continues to be displayed, adjust the mounting position of Ink bag control cable. • If the same error continues to be displayed after adjustment, check the connection. • If the same error continues to be displayed after checking the connection, Ink bag control cable may be damaged. Replace it. • If the same error continues to be displayed after replacing it, refer to the check item 4. 4. Check the connection of the connector of Ink sensor cable. Correctly plug the following connectors again. HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J5 (K1) • Connector J6 (K2) • Connector J7 (C1) • Connector J8 (C2) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (L side): • Connector J5 (Y1) • Connector J6 (Y2) • Connector J7 (M1) • Connector J84 (M2) • Connector J3 MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER CONTROL board assembly 3: J9, J10 If the same error continues to be displayed even after inserting the above connectors again, Ink sensor cable or the cables on the path may be damaged. Replace it. If the same error continues to be displayed after replacing it, MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace it 5. HEATER JUNCTION board assembly may be damaged.   • Description: *Up to seven colors are indicated simultaneously in [*] by K, k, C, c, M, m, Y and y when no S/C card is detected. When there is no S/C card, [ALL] is displayed. S/C card is not inserted.
  • Remedy: 1. Check if the dedicated Smart chip cards are used. Instruct the user to use the dedicated Smart chip cards. - 2. Is the message displayed after turning off the printer and turning it back on? When the message is displayed: Refer to the check item 2 for action. - 3. Check if Smart chip cards are correctly detected in “Ctrl2: Sensor” – “Sen.4 : etc.” – “19 : S/C NOT” in the self-diagnosis function. Insert or remove Smart IC chop cards to see if “S/ C NOT [KkCcMmYy]” display changes. If the display is abnormalIf the display is abnormal, refer to the check item 3 for action. 4. Check the connection of the connector of Ink sensor cable. *Check the connection of the connectors on the path. Correctly insert the following connectors again. MAIN board assembly: J43 HEATER CONTROL board assembly 3: J9, J10 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (R side): • Connector J5 (K1) • Connector J6 (K2) • Connector J7 (C1) • Connector J8 (C2) • Connector J4 • Connector J3 HEATER JUNCTION board assembly (L side): • Connector J5 (Y1) • Connector J6 (Y2) • Connector J7 (M1) • Connector J8 (M2) • Connector J3 Connector on the Ink ID board side: • If the same error continues to be displayed even after inserting the above connectors again, Ink sensor cable or the cables on the path may be damaged. Replace it. 5. Check if ink ID is correctly recognized in “Ctrl2: Sensor” – “Sen.4 : etc” – “9 – 16: *Ink ID” (*indicates ink color) in the selfdiagnosis function. 6. HEATER JUNCTION board assembly may be damaged. If the display is abnormal, Ink ID board assembly may be damaged. Replace it. Also, the connection between Ink ID board terminal and Smart chip may be poor. Check if Card reader holder A (development view E- 87) and Card reader holder B (development view E-85) are assembled without a gap. (When assembling, press Card reader A from above so that the card will be securely inserted.) If the same error continues to be displayed after replacing it, MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace it. Replace HEATER JUNCTION board assembly.

  • Description: *Up to seven colors are indicated simultaneously in [*] by K, k, C, c, M, m, Y and y when no S/C ink is detected. When there is no ink in any of Sub tanks, [ALL] is displayed.
    The amount of the remaining ink on S/C card is 0.
  • Remedy: Check which Smart chip card is being displayed as “Ink end” in “Ctrl2: Sensor” – “Sen.4 : etc.” – “20 : S/C END [KkCcMmYy]” in the selfdiagnosis function. Replace with Smart chip card with remaining ink to see if “20: S/C END [KkCcMmYy]” display changes.

  • Description: *Up to seven colors are indicated simultaneously in [*] by K, k, C, c, M, m, Y and y when S/C card that is not a dedicated one is detected. When there is no ink in any of Sub tanks, [ALL] is displayed.
    A dedicated S/C card is not inserted.
  • Remedy: 1. Check if the message is displayed after turning off the printer and turning it back on. When the message is displayed: Refer to the check item 2. - 2. Check if the dedicated Smart chip cards are used. 3. Check if the dedicated Smart chip cards are broken or the chip portion is damaged. Replace with the dedicated Smart chip cards. 4. Check if ink ID is correctly recognized in “Check:13: ExControl” - “Ctrl2: Sensor” - “Sen.4: etc.” - “9-16*: [KkCcMmYy] Ink ID” (*indicates ink color) in the selfdiagnosis function.

  • Remedy: 1. Check if Waste fluid bottle is full. Dispose of waste fluid. - 2. Check the connection of the connector of Waste fluid level switch. Correctly insert the following connectors again. MAIN board assembly: J33 Connector on the Waste fluid bottle side. 3. Waste fluid level switch may be damaged. Replace Waste fluid level switch. If the same error continues to be displayed after replacing Waste fluid level switch: MAIN board assembly may be damaged. Replace it. 4. Check MAIN board assembly.
