hi all,

is it possible to shoot h264 video in 3x crop mode? i.e not in raw but just plain h264.

I have 24-105 f4 lens and intend to use it in 3x crop mode but not in raw. I want to use it in h264 format. Is it possible?

regards,

figured it out:
YOU MUST make sure that your Exposure Mode is set to MANUAL in the menu settings for this to work.

Rainer: I agree with you. I had always shot in Manual Mode using my own custom settings, but seeing how Cinema Mode raw footage measures on the WFM, I had to try it. After all, Canon wouldnt include something in one of their cameras that didnt work 100 would they? Would they? Really?:- I have made the adjustment you suggest, back to Manual Mode

I have a little Canon Elph which I shoot some video with. The canon video is avi and pretty high quality but the problem I have with it is when pointed towards bright lights it causes vertical light bars on the video. My brother has the same problem with his sanyo. Make sure you can try the different cameras in video mode before buying.

I noticed the camera doesnt turn like the head of the character does when you do a backloop in first person view. Its not important but anyway
