Service Mode. GP15 How to Set the Machine Configuration

Description

Use this procedure when a new NVM chip has been installed on the IOT PWB or the message ‘Machine Speed Configuration Error’ occurs.

WARNING
Switch off the electricity to the machine, GP14. Disconnect the power cord from the customer supply while performing tasks that do not need electricity. Electricity can cause death or injury. Moving parts can cause injury.

WARNING
Do not use the on / off switch as a safety disconnect device. The on/off switch is not a disconnect device. Disconnect the power cord from the supply to isolate the equipment.

Procedure

Perform the following:

  1. If the message ‘Machine Speed Configuration Error’ occurs, then perform the following:
    a. Enter diagnostics, GP 1.
    b. Re-enter the machine serial number. Refer to the product / serial number plate on the front frame of the machine. On the ‘Service Info’ screen, select the serial number box and enter the machine serial number.
    c. Select dC131 chain 3, location 03-008 and check the product identifier. Enter the correct value. Select dC131, chain 3, location 03-012 and check the product configuration speed. Enter the correct machine speed. Select dC131 chain 8, location 08-001 and check the print rate. Enter the correct print rate.
    NOTE: These settings are password protected. Contact your local service specialist to obtain the correct passwords.
  2. If the message ‘Machine Speed Configuration Error’ does not occur, perform the following:
    a. Enter diagnostics, GP 1.
    b. Re-enter the machine serial number. Refer to the product / serial number plate on the front frame of the machine. On the ‘Service Info’ screen, select the serial number box and enter the machine serial number.
  3. Exit Diagnostics, GP 1.
  4. Restore the NVM by using the machine resident diskette supplied with the machine and the latest .nvb file that was saved, GP 5.
  5. Complete the final actions, SCP 6.
