J0508: No paper feed from the duplex section

The registration sensor is not turned on after turning on the eject/duplex clutch (The paper switchbacks).

2	Checking the paper path	The paper is caught with a piece of paper, etc.	Remove any paper or foreign objects on the paper path and remove the burrs on the parts such as the guide or the actuator.
3	Checking the paper	The paper curls or is wavy.	Replace the paper if it is damp.
4	Checking the eject sensor	The eject sensor does not operate normally.	Reattach the eject sensor and reconnect the wire. If not repaired, replace it.
5	Checking the eject/duplex clutch	The eject/duplex clutch does not operate normally.	Reattach the eject/duplex sensor and reconnect the wire. If not repaired, replace it.
6	Checking the conveying motor	The drive from the conveying motor is not transmitted to the duplex roller.	Reattach the paper conveying unit.
7	Checking the main/engine PWB	The wires on the main/ engine PWB are not correctly connected, or the main/engine PWB is faulty.	Reconnect the wires on the main/engine PWB. Then, repair or replace them if pinched by the wire or if they have any damage.If not repaired, replace the main/ engine PWB.

J0509: No paper feed from the MP tray

Registration sensor (RS) does not turn on during paper feed from MP tray.

Step	Check description	Assumed cause	Measures
1	Checking the MP bottom plate	The MP bottom plate is not correctly attached.	When the MP bottom plate does not lift up, reattach it.
2	Checking the MP paper feed solenoid	The MP paper feed solenoid does not operate normally.	When the MP bottom plate does not lift up, reattach MP paper feed solenoid and reconnect. If not repaired, replace it.
3	Checking the paper	The cut-end of the paper is crushed.	Fan the paper well and load it by reversing the paper direction
4	Checking the paper	The paper leading edge is bent.	Remove the bent paper.
5	Checking the paper	The paper is curled downward or wavy.	Correct the paper, or replace it. If it is difficult to replace the paper, relocate the leading end of paper and the tailing end or reload paper upside down.
6	Checking the paper	Unspecified papers are used.	Explain to the user to use the paper within the specifications.
7	Checking the paper	Foreign objects are on the paper.	Remove the paper with foreign objects.
8	Checking the paper path	The paper is caught with a piece of paper, etc.	Remove any paper or foreign objects on the paper path and remove the burrs on the parts such as the guide or the actuator.
9	Checking the MP paper feed roller	The paper conveying performance of the MP feed roller is not enough.	Clean the surface of MP paper feed roller. Replace if worn out.
10	Checking the actuator and the spring	The actuator does not operate normally.	The actuator or the spring is deformed. If the actuator does not normally operate, replace it.
11	Checking the registration sensor	The registration sensor does not operate normally.	Reattach the registration sensor and reconnect the wire. If not repaired, replace it.
12	Replacing the main/engine PWB	The main/engine PWB is faulty.	Replace the main/engine PWB.
