Troubleshooting. Pre-boot menu options
The Pre-boot menus are avaialble prior to the product initializing.
CAUTION:
The Format Disk option performs a disk initialization for the entire disk. The operating system, firmware files, and third party files (among other files) will be completely lost. HP does not recommend this action.
TIP:
The Pre-boot menu can be remotely accessed by using a telnet network protocol to establish a administration connection to the product.
Open the Pre-boot menu using the product control panel
- Turn the product on.
- The HP logo displays on the product control panel. When a "1/8" with an underscore displays below the HP logo, touch the logo to open the Pre-boot menu.
- Use the arrow buttons on the touchscreen to navigate the Pre-boot menu.
- Touch the OK button to select a menu item.

CAUTION:
This procedure resets all product configurations and settings to factory defaults (customer configurations and settings are lost).
- Turn the product on.
- The HP logo displays on the product control panel. When a "1/8" with an underscore displays below the HP logo, touch the logo to open the Pre-boot menu.
- Use the down arrow ▼ button to highlight the +3:Administrator item, and then touch the OK button.
- Use the down arrow ▼ button to highlight the +8:Startup Options item, and then touch the OK button.
- Use the down arrow ▼ button to highlight the 2 Cold Reset item, and then touch the OK button to select it.
- Touch the Home ⌂ button to return to the main Pre-boot menu and highlight the 1:Continue item, and then touch the OK button.
NOTE: The product will initialize.
