Firmware Update
Overview
In order to update the firmware of this machine, it is necessary to download the latest version of firmware on a SD card.
Insert the SD card in SD card slot on the MPU.
Before You Begin
An SD card is a precision device. Always observe the following precautions when you handle SD cards:
- Always switch the machine off before you insert an SD card. Never insert the SD card into the slot with the power on
- Do not remove the SD card from the service slot after the power has been switched on.
- Never switch the machine off while the firmware is downloading from the SD card
- Keep SD cards in a safe location where they are not exposed to high temperature, high humidity, or exposure to direct sunlight.
- Always handle SD cards with care. Do not bend or scratch them. Do not let the SD card get exposed to shock or vibration.
Updating Firmware
Preparation
- Confirm the SD Card is using FAT or FAT32 File system (or, please format the SD Card).
- Setup the “D245” folder on SD card.
- Copy the “D245*****.brn” files into the “D245” folder on SD card.
Note:
• Do not put multiple firmware programs on the same SD card. Copy the only model firmware you want.
Updating Procedure
- Turn the main power switch off.
- Rear cover
- Insert the SD card [A] straight into the SD card slot.
- Slowly push the SD card into the slot so it locks in place. You will hear it click. Make sure the SD card locks in place.
• To remove the SD, push it in to unlock the spring lock. Then release it so it pops out of the slot. - Turn on the update switch (SW5) [A].
- Disconnect the network cable if the machine is connected to a network.
- Attach the rear cover.
- Turn the main power switch on. After about 45 seconds, the initial screen for the update will appear on the LCD in English.
- The file name for the update appears on the LCD. If the file is the one you want, press the [OK] key.
- The file is stored in memory, and the screen shown below appears. Press the [Execute] key to start updating.
- When updating completes, the screen shown below appears.
- Turn the main power switch off.
- Rear cover
- Press in the SD card to release it. Then remove it from the slot.
- Turn off the update switch (SW5) [A].
- Turn the main power switch on, then the new firmware will be working.
Recovery after power loss
- When the power supply is switched OFF during firmware update, update is interrupted, and the power is switched ON again, normal operation cannot be guaranteed.
- To guarantee operation, an update error continues to be displayed until update is successful.
- In this case, insert the SD card again, switch the power ON, and continue download of firmware from the SD card automatically.
