Troubleshooting. Consumable Error

List of the error display

  • When an abnormality occurs in the imaging unit or the toner cartridge, an error message is displayed with an error code.
  • Confirm the displayed error message and take an appropriate action.

Imaging unit installation error

Step Action Yes No
1 Check if the imaging unit is a supported and genuine Konica Minolta supply. If not, then replace it.
Make sure that the imaging unit is properly installed.
Go to step 2. The problem is solved.
2 Check the imaging unit contacts and spring for proper installation or damage. Are the contacts and spring properly installed and damaged? Go to step 3. Go to step 5.
3 Check if the imaging unit contacts and spring are beyond repair. Are the contacts and spring beyond repair? Contact KM. Go to step 4.
4 Straighten the imaging unit contacts and install the spring properly. Does the problem remain? Go to step 5. The problem is solved.
5 Clean the Toner level sensor. Does the problem remain? Go to step 6. The problem is solved.
6 Check the cable PCN3 for proper connection to the power supply. Check the toner level sensor cable for proper connection to the MFP board.
Are they properly connected?
Go to step 7. Reseat the cables.
7 Check the cable PCN3 and toner level sensor cable for damage. Are they free of damage? Replace the MFP board. If the left actions do not solve the problem, contact KM.

Incorrect Toner Cartridge setup

1 Check if the toner cartridge is a supported and genuine Konica Minolta supply. If not, then replace it.
Make sure that the toner cartridge is properly installed. Check the toner cartridge, toner cartridge button, and cartridge plunger for damage. Replace if necessary.
Go to step 2. The problem is solved.
2 Check the cable JDRC2 for proper connection to the MFP board. Is it properly connected? Go to step 3. Reseat the cable.
3 Check the toner cartridge smart chip contact for damaged pins. Is it free of damage? Replace the MFP board. Replace the toner cartridge smart chip contact.

Imaging Unit Detection Error
